MEET JOE BAKER
Joe was born and raised in Berkeley County. He is a proud graduate of Stratford High School. Joe attended The Citadel where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering. He currently serves on the Construction Engineering Advisory Council for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Citadel. Joe is a partner at WM Building Envelope Consultants, a consulting firm specializing in roofing, exterior walls, and waterproofing.
Joe’s family and faith are his top priorities. He and his wife, Mary Ann, have two children, Miles (7) and Brooke (4). The Baker family attends Freedom Church in Moncks Corner where Joe serves on multiple teams.

We deserve to know what is happening in our schools, from the budget to the curriculum. I will ensure that every parent can engage in their child's education. Parents know what is best for their children and deserve to know what they are taught.
Financial Transparency:

The Berkeley County School District has a budget of 369 million. Taxpayers and parents have the right to know how that money is spent. We need as much money as possible to end up in the classroom where it belongs.
Educational Opportunities for All Children:

Not every child will earn a four-year college degree, and we need to ensure those children have access to proper education while in school. We need to expand partnerships with local stakeholders to provide an educational pathway so all students can succeed.
